Can anyone help a new cigar smoker?

I am interested in the fine cigar and truly do not know where to begin. Other than visiting my local cigar shop, any suggestions. Also, what is a good starter cigar?

A macanudo would be a milder cigar to try. The people that work in the smoke shop can give you the best advice. They have probably tried most if not all of the cigars they sell.

If you can find a time when they are not real busy, they will have more time to spend with you.

A few things to keep in mind when you stop by the store, Have a price range in mind, it will save time, no sense in having them show you several cigars that cost over 15 dollars a stick when your price range is between 5 and 10 dollars. Listen to their advice and try two or three different brands and sizes.

If you have a satellite radio there is a program on Saturday Called the Cigar Dave Show that is about cigars and some other things that can make cigar smoking an enjoyable experience.
